Chartered busses will bring us to the tour destinations, the banquet and back to the venue. Our excursion will lead us to the nearby city Kamakura. Kamakura is an ancient city with rich history and a traditional atmosphere.

Kamakura was once even the center of power for more than hundred years in the so-called Kamakura period from around year 1185 until 1333. Kamakura was the starting point of the age of military rulers in Japan, the so-called "shoguns", which wielded the political power instead of the emperor in Kyoto. One of the most famous historical figures is the first shogun, and de-facto ruler of Japan of that time, Minamoto no Yoritomo, which resided in Kamakura.

Today, Kamakura is a small city and at first glance not many signs from its former importance and influence remained. We will visit famous religious monuments of the city to get a hint at the city’s flourishing past. We will visit the city's historic shrines and temples including the "Daibutsu" (translated as "Giant Buddha"), a monumental bronze statue of Buddha. In the evening we finish the day with a banquet at the Kamakura Park Hotel.
