Climate

The climate of Kyoto in late September is generally comfortable. The temperature can be around 25 °C in the daytime and around 18 °C at night. It is usually sunny but occasionally rainy.


Currency

The local currency is the Japanese Yen (JPY). Foreign currency is not accepted at most stores in Japan. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops. Small restaurants and shops may not accept credit cards. Major currencies, such as US dollar and EURO, can be exchanged at international airports, JR Kyoto Station, and major banks and hotels. Banks are open from 9:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. The secretariat will only accept Japanese yen in cash at the ISCC-10 Desk.


Passports and Visa

Participants requiring a visa for entry to Japan are strongly advised to make their application in their home country at least three months before the intended date of travel. For information, please consult your nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate or your travel agent.


Letter of Invitation

Those who need a letter of invitation, please contact both the ISCC-10 chairman and secretariat.


Insurance

ISCC-10 will not assume responsibility for medical expenses of attendees at ISCC-10. All attendees are urged to ensure that they are covered by their own travel and health insurance policies while traveling to and from and while attending ISCC-10. ISCC-10 is not responsible for private possessions lost or stolen at the symposium.
