For Overseas Participants
Access to Kambaikan from Overseas

The most convenient way to Kyoto from overseas is to take a flight to Kansai International Airport (KIX). From KIX, there are two convenient ways to come to Kyoto for oversea participants.

1) By train

Take an Express Train (Haruka) from JR Kansai Airport Station to Kyoto Station [75 min]. For details, see:http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/en/access/train/index.html

2) By bus

Take an Airport Limousine Bus to Kyoto Station from Kansai International Airport.

For details, see:http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/en/access/bus/index.html

From Kyoto Station, there are several ways to come to Kambaikan. Taking a Subway is convenient unless you have heavy luggage.
Take a Subway (bound for Kokusai Kaikan, International Conference Center) and get off at Imadegawa Station (9 min, 250 yen). Proceed to find No.2 Exit of the underground passage. After going up No.2 Exit, turn to the left and walk north on the Imadegawa Street about 1 min to reach Kambaikan, Doshisha University. Just for your reference, from Kyoto Station to the venue, it takes 15 min or longer by taxi and costs 1500-2000 yen.

For Other Areas in Japan

Osaka Airport (Itami Airport) is the nearest domestic airport. There will be many flights from all over Japan. Airport Shuttle Bus bound for Kyoto Station (55 min, every 20 min) is convenient. Alternatively, you can use Osaka Monorail, Hankyu trains, and Subway to reach Imadegawa Station, which requires three transfers (details not shown).

By train, JR Kyoto Station is the main JR station, where all Shinkansens stop.
